Phenomenon The Poet is one of the most profound and prolific minds to ever grace the mic. She is also an author, part time educator, and renaissance woman; blessed enough to ascend beyond the beautiful yet violent streets of Chicago where she was raised, Phenomenon is simply a walking testimony. Aggressive and sexy. Loud and lovable, she's just what music needs as she enters into the hip hop ring with the release of "Goddess on Deck - The Mixtape. " A mixture of her always clever word play with a Chicago Deep House sound fuses Houston Bass to make what can only be described as "The Phenomenon Sound."
As an international spoken word artist and 19x poetry slam champion, Phenomenon the Poet has performed in the Bahamas, New South Wales, Australia, Alaska, and a host of additional stages that have welcomed her dramatic, thought provoking and sometimes comedic stage presence. She also has appeared on Season 4 of Lexus Verses and Flow on TvOne soon after her first appearance on stage in Paris, France.
As an actress, she has appeared in a number of theater and television performances. Amongst them Phenomenon the Poet's first DVD performance, part of The T.R.U.T.H. Project's Coming Out Series, was recorded at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center in Houston, TX. The release of her controversial novel entitled "A Lesbian in God's House", has added a new layer of spice to her already packed resume as she chronicles the realistic struggle of modern lesbian women in the black church.
This hip hop radical and poetry slam champion represents realness and a rebel mentality in a world where the throne is hers and its all on the stage!
